Since the UCAS Clearing opens Friday 5th July, here are the UK Football Schools top tips for using UCAS Clearing to apply to the UK’s best football universities.
Prepare in advance – Even if you’re confident of reaching the grades required to get into one of the best football universities in England and Wales it’s still good to have a contingency plan. UK Football Schools suggest making a list of courses you’d like to study and making a list of the best UK football universities you’d like to study at so if you do need to use UCAS Clearing you can get a head start on other students.
Don’t wait till results day on August 15th – If you’re studying different qualifications to A Levels (i.e. IB) then UCAS Clearing opens in July as they receive their results much earlier. This allows these students an earlier chance to use UCAS Clearing to apply to the top English football universities sooner which in turn could mean you miss out on one of the best UK football university places by waiting till results day.
Be There – Results day on August 15th is a critical day in your life as you are shaping your future career by joining one of the best soccer universities in England and Wales. Therefore, UK Football Schools recommend that you are present at your current institution to receive your results and that you are not on holiday so if you do need to apply through UCAS Clearing you have a head start on your peers, this ultimately will give you the best chance of getting into the best UK soccer universities.
Be Positive – UCAS Clearing in the past was maybe the route to go down if you missed out on a good UK football university then you could get into a university that wasn’t as good with a lesser reputation. However, now most of the top 20 UK universities can be found offering places through UCAS Clearing which include many of the best football universities in the UK.
Regularly check UCAS Track – If you become eligible to apply through UCAS Clearing to join one of the UK’s best soccer universities then an ‘add Clearing choice’ button will appear in your UCAS ‘Track Choices’ screen. You can also directly contact to best soccer universities in England and Wales.
Check the official UCAS Clearing listings – You’ll be able to find UCAS Clearing choices on the UCAS website or direct at the UK’s best football universities.
