There is no doubt that attending a UK Football School is one of the very best ways to combine an individual achieving both football and academic excellence. In addition, attending one of these amazing schools provides a disciplined but holistic approach to academic education and football progression that is the envy of the rest of the world. So, there is no question about the advantages of attending one of these amazing schools, but we are often asked here at UK Football Schools about how much they actually cost.
There is no simple answer to this question as individual schools can vary quite markedly in the fees that they charge. As you would expect, there is a spectrum of prices depending on the school, but as a guide, the average fees that our partner schools charge can range from £6-8,000 per term for day pupils, and from £12-16,000 per term for boarding pupils. Here we look at some of the factors that influence these costs.
Attendance as a day pupil
If you are fortunate to live near one of these prestigious UK Football schools, then it may be possible to travel to it every day, and return home in the evenings. Because there are no boarding costs involved, this is a very much less expensive option, and the fees are approximately half those of pupils who board.
Attendance as a boarding pupil
The majority of pupils who attend UK Football schools do so on a boarding basis. This means they stay at the school for the duration of the term and only return home for the school holidays. Because these boarding pupils require full boarding facilities and include all meals and full pastoral care, these are the full fees that are usually quoted on the various school’s websites.
Geographical location
The geographical location of a school can influence the fees charged. Inevitably, schools located in areas where the cost of living is high will have higher costs associated with a range of services, from staff costs to food costs. So inevitably this may be reflected in the fees that they charge.
Range of facilities and opportunities offered apart from football
All of the schools we partner specialise in football, but some also offer a more extensive range of differing sports and past times, giving their pupils the opportunity to enjoy a broad spectrum of different experiences. Naturally, this wide range of extracurricular activities will be reflected in the cost of the school fees.
Scholarship opportunities
We are very aware of the importance of school fees to some of the families we work with and help. We also work closely with our schools as regards the opportunities for scholarships should an individual applicant show outstanding talent in a particular field, be it football or academia or both. We will then work with the school and the family to try and reach an outcome that suits both parties.
Here at UK Football Schools, the nature of our bespoke service means that we always work with our families to try and find the right school for the individual pupil, with the right balance of football and academic studies at a price the family can afford.
