Alex was born in Washington DC to English parents and grew up playing for local academies until he was 18 years old where he was recruited to play Division 1 university ‘soccer’ in Boston. Kanayo's Father came to UK Football Schools looking to find a boarding school with a football academy where he could continue with his education to a high level, but also develop his football on an elite football program. Kanayo was already studying in a football boarding school in England, which appears highly on search engines. However, he felt like he wasn't getting the opportunities to progress. Kanayo knew if he were to make it to the level necessary, he would need to be working with elite coaches and showcasing his talent to professional clubs on a regular basis.
