We are pleased to announce that current UK Football Trials Operations Director Tom Rudd has recently joined the UK Football Schools team adding to his roles within the businesses.
After watching Euro 96’ aged 6 years old, Tom fell in love with the game of football. Tom was a very talented young footballer, and played at an academy level before being released at the age of 16 years old. At the time Tom was extremely disappointed, but decided he wanted to pursue a career within football. Over the years he has been fortunate enough to work as a football coach, a scout for a professional club and a PE teacher within a school environment. Tom was also employed for a time as a football tour co-ordinator organising large scale football tours for schools to visit and train with some of Europe’s top clubs.
All of Tom’s experiences led him to join UK Football Trials where he is now the Operations director. His love of football, eye for detail and passion for helping players achieve their football dreams has enabled him to excel in this role, doing the job he loves.
Tom is now broadening his experience, and has started working alongside UK Football Trials’ sister company, UK Football Schools, as a player pathways consultant. Tom helps place both UK based and International based players into private boarding schools within the UK. These schools have been carefully selected, and have outstanding football academies that run alongside the academic side of the school’s life. Tom also helps place players aged 16-18, that are leaving school and looking for a private football academy to focus solely on football for a year, or need help finding a university which can provide their undergraduates with great football opportunities within a degree environment.
Tom had this to say when asked about his new role “I am delighted to start this role, as I am now able to help players from all over the world have access to the amazing facilities, coaching and standard of football we are blessed to have within our schools, academies and universities here in the UK.”
Tom is very much looking forward to helping young footballers find the very best UK football boarding schools and advise families on pathways into professional football, via these schools, private academies and Universities.
